Hugely popular are make-up, hair and fashion tips for the all-important New Year’s Eve party.
New Year’s resolution ideas videos also go down a treat, everything from cleaning out your wardrobe to bucket lists to taking up a new hobby.
Here’s how a few well known brands sponsored New Year’s themed influencer videos.
Nintendo of Canada commissioned this video with Really Freakin’ Clever.
The influencer talked about the game, and announced a competition run in collaboration with the brand for viewers to win a New Nintendo 3DS XL.
Viewers had to tweet their three gaming New Year’s resolutions to the influencer using the hashtag #CleverResolution.
Booking.com teamed up with high profile UK beauty YouTuber Patricia Bright to make this video.
In the video the influencer talked about her pregnancy, fears for the year ahead and New Year’s resolutions – including to travel more with her husband and new born.
She repeated Booking.com’s slogan of “turn your resolutions into reservations” and included it in the video’s description.
Here Macy’s hired the influencer to go shopping in their store and pick out three different outfits for New Year’s Eve parties.
She chose and styled outfit’s for house party, formal party and outdoor party – describing all the items she wore in the video description.
In the first line of the description, the influencer also included a link to Macy’s website.
Hairdo sponsored this New Year’s Eve inspired make-up and hair tutorial video.
The influencer showed off the product at the beginning of the video, before doing a demonstration for several minutes.
She added value for viewers by talking them through a complete head to toe New Year’s look, featuring products besides the one Hairdo wanted promoted.
It worked because it came across as far more authentic to viewers than a standard product placement video.
